El Dee

David Espinoza is a Mexican illustrator and author based in Cholula, Puebla.

He is the creator of comic projects such as “Yo y la Muerte” and “El Twit Ilustrado”. In 2018, he won the National Graphic Novel Award “Tierra Adentro” for his work “Nido de Serpientes”, which was later republished by Editorial Planeta.

As an illustrator, he has collaborated with brands such as Coca-Cola, Google, Editorial Planeta, Penguin Random House, Editorial SM, Cerveza Indio, and Revista Chilango, among others.

His graphic work in the music industry has been significant, having collaborated with bands and festivals from Russia to Argentina.

David is also the founder and art director of the Mexican streetwear brand Pizzatánicos and Trucha Cienfuegos, a graphic arts studio in Cholula.

His latest graphic novel, “Foráneo”, was published by Editorial Planeta at the end of 2023 and won the Comic of the Year Award at Pixelatl Festival.
